What a principal, Stage 3 coordinator or classroom teacher needs to know before deciding whether MyScience fits their school.

What is this?
A guided inquiry program in which Year 5/6 students design, run and present real science investigations with support from STEM mentors and Year 9/10 near-peer mentors called MySTics.
Who is it for?
Stage 3 classes, including generalist teachers who want more confidence teaching science. Composite and single-class schools are welcome.
What does the school do?
Host the program, attend one professional learning session, guide lessons within normal programming and coordinate lightly with the Hub facilitator.
Time commitment
Usually 10–20 hours inside normal science lessons across the term, plus approximately 4–6 hours for professional learning, light coordination and a short evaluation.
What support is provided?
A trained facilitator, classroom templates, STEM mentors, MySTics on a defined visit schedule and a structured pathway to the MyScience Fair.
What happens after registration?
MyScience contacts your school to discuss location, timing, eligibility, contribution options and available Hub opportunities.

Class brainstorm

A whole-class brainstorm around your chosen theme helps every student identify a question worth testing.

Term 2 · Weeks 3–7

Three mentored visits

STEM mentors and MySTics work alongside students as they test ideas, collect evidence and refine their explanations.

Term 3 · Science Week

MyScience Fair

Student teams present their investigations and findings to families and the wider school community.
