The participant journey
From teacher preparation to the MyScience Fair, the program unfolds across the school year, with each stage building confidence, curiosity and real scientific thinking.
Teacher Professional Learning
Primary teachers build capability to teach science through guided inquiry and explicit teaching within normal programming.
Mentor & MySTic Briefings
Information sessions (separately) for Scientist Mentors and Year 9/10 students (MySTics) to prepare for their roles in the classroom.
Class Brainstorms
Each primary class participates in a whole-class brainstorm around a teacher-selected theme.
Mentored School Visits
Three scheduled visits where mentors and MySTics support primary students to ask questions, test ideas, collect evidence, and communicate findings.
MyScience Fair
The culmination of the program where student teams present their investigation findings to families and the school community.

Why one Hub works: a community of practice.
Communities of practice form when three elements meet: a shared domain, a community of members, and the practice they develop together.
In MyScience, the domain is working scientifically; the community includes primary students, teachers, MySTics, STEM mentors and facilitators; and the practice is the investigation work they do together.
